WHAT LAW WAS BROKEN? The Copyright Law has been broken in this case.

MAXIMUM MONETARY PENALTY THE TEENAGER COULD BE FORCED TO PAY: This 16 year old teenager can be forced to pay $3 million.

MAXIMUM JAIL PENALTY TEENAGER CAN BE FORCED TO SERVE: The teenager can be forced to serve as high as 5 years in prison for downloading 1,000 songs (5G, $3 million worth).

WHAT LESSON HAS THIS TAUGHT THOSE WHO KNOW THE TEENAGER? It taught them to never illegally download anything unless you have permission because you could be forced to pay tons of money or serve lots of years in jail.
