Glow Stick Lab Question:
Glow sticks are often used on fishing lures. I wonder if the chemicals inside will react & produce light at temperatures typical of water in the Columbia River, where 2-6°C is common. Hypothesis:

Procedure - Variables Materials: Steps include Manipulated (changed)
Responding (depends on the change) Two Controlled (kept the same) Experimental control (baseline to compare to) Materials: Steps include Directions for someone else to follow measurements to be recorded Number of trials repeated to improve validity

Data & its Analysis: draw a table with 2 columns and a key to your brightness symbols Analyze how the results relate to the question being addressed

Conclusion - Include 3 parts: ANSWER: Restate & answer the question
SUPPORTING DATA: Write the numbers or observations that support your answer EXPLANATION: Describe possible reasons for results: causative effects (answer why) sources of error (variables that were not controlled) additional questions that need to be investigated
