This presentation includes forward-looking statements. Actual future conditions (including economic conditions, energy demand, and energy supply) could differ materially due to changes in technology, the development of new supply sources, political events, demographic changes, and other factors discussed herein (and in Item 1A of ExxonMobil’s latest report on Form 10-K or information set forth under "factors affecting future results" on the "investors" page of our website at www.exxonmobil.com). This material is not to be reproduced without the permission of Exxon Mobil Corporation. BOBI Folder Structure Approach Document
2
The existing BW Folder Structure is organized via BW Workbook Roles; CRM reports are organized in a Web Portal (B9 – Java Stack); InfoBroadcasting Reports are published in a Web Portal (B9) – and user interfaced via (U4 Portal); EMCC End Users have 3 different ways to access BW Reports: – SAP Business Explorer (BEx): BW Workbooks (all areas, except CRM); – Web Portal (B9): for CRM; – Web Portal (U4): for published InfoBroadcasting reports; Background
3
Business Requirements EMIT/Business Folders combined: All reports in one area folder. Easy to access. Business to have the Control to organize the reports Technical Requirements Power User reports must be stored separately Pushed Reports must be stored in folders secured by GBU Requirements
4
BOBI Folders are the repository for Reports and will replace the BW Workbook Roles as well as the InfoBroadcasting folders BOBI Folders are also basis for the Security Model and determine the BOBI Groups to be granted to the users BOBI Groups will be created in Windows Active Directory and assigned to selected Folders to provide proper access to the different types of users (Pre-Calc, On-Demand, Power Users and Authors) CRM will remain in the Web Portal (B9) – Needs to be tested (To be Confirmed – Performance in B9 is an issue) To-Be Design
5
Business Power User folders must be separated from EMIT ones to provide proper security and prevent changes on EMIT owned reports Business Power Users with will be granted access to create “Sub-Folders” under “Starter-Kit Folder” BOBI Scheduled Reports contain exposed data in it and requires a separate folder structure to restrict the access by GBU and Area There will be 3 main folders for Chemicals: – EMIT Base: Will contain only the EMIT owned Reports and will be available only to Business Authors (BCoE/A&R); On-Demand Profile: can open and refresh the content; – Starter-Kit: Will contain only Business developed Reports and will be available to general business population; On-Demand Profile: can open and refresh the content; Power User Profile: same as On-Demand + Create/Modify; – Pushed Reports: Will contain pre-calculated reports, scheduled by some business users with special access (Authors); Pre-Calc Profile: can only Open and Read Reports; Author Profile: same as Power User + Scheduling; To-Be Design (cont.)
6
As Best Practice, the BOBI Reports developed under “EMIT Base” or “Starter-Kit” must be configured to always Refresh on Opening. This feature guarantees the “BW Data Roles” will always be applied to end-users and therefore secure the data from different Regions/GBUs. Regular Users in BOBI will have the ability to save personal versions of Reports in their “Favorites Folders”. Those reports will be available ONLY to the individual who created it and may contain layout customizations, filters and actual data extracted from BW. To-Be Design (cont.)
7
EMIT developed Reports will be placed under “EMIT Base” by area; – Accessible by Power Users and Authors only; EMIT Reports may be “linked” into “Starter-Kit” folders to provide a “one-stop-shop” solution; Power Users will create Reports only under “Starter-Kit Reports” folders; Scheduled Reports will be placed only under “Pushed Reports”, by GBU/Area; BOBI Folder Structure iDAP BOBI Folder Structure Examples.vsd iDAP W9P Workbook Roles and BOBI Folder Structure.xlsx
