Rights Holders Include: International Olympic Committee, NFL, NCAA, MLB, NBA, –Own and Control Events (competitions), which have value to TV broadcasters –TV broadcasters bid for the right to telecast these events Bidding against each other causes the price to go up

Broadcasters Package and promote the events to a TV audience and they count on advertisers to pay fees for commercial time when the broadcast is aired. – Profit on these broadcasts is usually large, which justifies fees pay by the networks

Facilities/Venues Required to stage the events –Host team or facility desires to make a profit –Professional Sports- home team sells in- stadium advertising, tickets, and sometimes local broadcast rights. This provides additional income

Promoters Frequently create their own events –Example Don King: packaging professional boxing events in large venues and negotiating television rights and signing the athletes to fight for a large prize purse.

Buyers/Sponsors Pay enormous amounts of money to advertise their messages on the air, in stadiums/venues, on radio and I hospitality at the various events. –Olympics and NASCAR have been very successful as corporate entertainment venues. –Opportunities for corporate sponsorship

Agent/Manager/Athlete/Entertainer Agents- negotiate salaries, bonuses, endorsements, and other fees. –Most are attorneys –Receive a percentage of what their clients make –Also Managers and Handlers Athlete/Entertainer- the ones doing the performing
