3.  OSHA operates under the general working standards and explains that:  “ All employer shall furnish to each of his or her employees employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his or her employees”.

4.  Management commitment with a safety policy and publicize it. This should emphasize that the firm will do anything practical to eliminate or reduce accidents and injuries.  Analyze the number of accidents and safety incidents and then set specific achievable safety goals.

5.  Unsafe conditions are one main cause of accidents. They include such things as:  Improperly guarded equipment  Defective equipment  Hazardous procedures, in or around machine or equipment  Unsafe storage – congestions, overloading  Improper illuminations – glare, insufficient light  Improper ventilation – insufficient air change, impure air sources.
