2. The return of the Klan -The KKK originally gained power in the 1860’s. They returned around 1915 not only terrorizing African Americans, but also Catholics, Jews and immigrant groups. -KKK grew to over four million members by 1925. Describe what you see in this poster. What do you think was the purpose of this poster?

3. Marcus Garvey (1887-1940) Garvey was an educated man born in Jamaica who moved to New York. He supported the “back to Africa” movement. He founded the U.N.I.A – United Negro Improvement Association to promote racial unity and pride. He organized rallies and parades to build pride and confidence among the African American community.
