1 Do Now A car accelerates from 18.5 m/s to 46.1 m/s in 2.47 seconds. 1.Draw a picture. 2.Draw a motion diagram for the car. 3.Determine the acceleration of the car. 4.Determine the displacement of the car for this time interval.

2 Warm up! (in the ice box….?) A tennis ball is hit with a racquet vertically in the air. The ball is launched with an initial velocity of 30 m/s and is in free fall. 1.Draw a picture of the situation. 2.Draw a motion diagram of the tennis ball. 3.Draw a Position vs. Time and Velocity vs. Time graph. 4.Determine the maximum height of the tennis ball.

3 A car is driving with an initial velocity of 20 m/s. A light turns red in front of the driver. The driver hits the brakes and slows down with an acceleration of 6 m/s^2. 1.Draw a picture. 2.Draw a motion diagram. 3.Draw a P vs T and V vs T graph. 4.How far does the car travel after it hits the brakes. 5.How much time does it take for the car to stop.
