Boadicea (6 th century). She led her men against the Romans invaders. Her speech: “My motherland has become a part of the huge Romans Empire. But other men and I try to resist our enemies. We revolted. I, your queen will lead the tribes against the invaders. I will lead my soldiers into the battle myself and encourage my men to fight. Vote for me!”

Henry’s daughter, Elizabeth I (1533-1603) Princess of Wales, became the queen in 1558. She never married and is remembered as a very popular and strong queen.

During Elizabeth’s I reign England became a very important in European politics, the Spanish armada was defeated, arts and especially theatre developed, and the country became very powerful. The image of the lion-hearted queen may be still seen in Westminster Abbey.

Queen Victoria (1819-1901). You can see her monument in front of Buckingham Palace. Queen Victoria came to the thrown in 1837. She had ruled for the longest period in the English history, for 64 years!

Queen Victoria left London and never lived in the city( where she was happy with her husband and nine children) after her husband, Prince Albert’s, death. But the places in London the Royal Albert Hall, the monument to Prince Albert and the Victoria and Albert museum remind us of their love.

During Queen Victoria’s reign Britain became a rich industrial country with a developed trade, an empire with a lot of colonies.

Queen Elizabeth II (Queen Victoria’s granddaughter)is on the thrown now.

The Queen’s title is Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland of Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith, etc. – милостью Божией Королева Соединённого Королевства Великобритании и Северной Ирландии и её других владений и территорий, глава Содружества наций, защитница Веры и пр., пр., и пр.

Queen Elizabeth II (Elizabeth- Mary- Alexander Windsor). Born in Windsor on 21 April 1926. Studied Latin, Geography, Economics, Music. Good at horse riding, dancing, swimming.
