Why a Phone-a-thon? Excessive foreclosures are having a detrimental effect on our community Avoidance and frustration with the process by homeowners continues the crisis The Phone-a-thon provides an opportunity for homeowners to privately access HOC services by telephone.

HOC Services Direct contact with loan servicers on behalf of the borrower Technical assistance in loan restructuring Budgeting and financial management counseling support

How will the Telethon work? Calls will go into the local PBS studio. When all lines are busy, the calls will automatically go to the Fannie Mae Reston, Virginia site to be answered. Volunteers will take the calls and use the script to get information to complete the Intake Sheet. Intake Sheets will be electronically sent to HOC at the end of the Telethon.
