Formed by two number lines, called axes, that intersect to form right angles at their zero points.

3. Origin
The point at which the two axes intersect.

6. Ordered Pair
A pair of numbers that represent the location of a point on the coordinate plane.
The ordered pair for the origin is (0, 0).
An ordered pair is always written in parentheses.

7. Ordered Pair
X-Coordinate: the first number in the ordered pair; located by moving left or right.
Y-Coordinate: the second number in the ordered pair; located by moving up or down.
Point (3,-2) move to the right 3 and down 2.

The four regions formed by the intersection of the two axes
The regions are numbered with Roman numerals;
