1. I am currently working at a business and technology consulting firm called Credera, located in Dallas, TX. The Mines curriculum has more than prepared me for my current job and my career. Coming out of Mines, I am miles ahead of where Credera expected college hires to be in both programming and work experience. Not only did I get a fantastic education, but Mines encouraged all of us to work in internships in the summers. With the career fairs, DiggerNet, guest/company talks, and a great alumni network, there is no reason any student should graduate without work experience. And if for some reason that doesn't happen, then field session is an adequate representation of the real thing. With my three summers of internships, I was not just prepared for the tasks at hand, but how to handle a work environment and associate with both coworkers and supervisors.

2. At Credera, I am a front end web developer, mainly focusing in Javascript and PHP frameworks. If it were not for my CS degree at Mines and the course I took, there would be no way I could keep up with the expertise needed to perform my job at a high level. The classes that have benefited me the most have been Web Programming and UI Design. Of course, if it wasn't for the building blocks in Principles of Programming, Data Structures, and Software Engineering, where I am right now as a programmer would not be possible! On top of all that, classes such as EPICS help me on the business side of my work with training in formal writing and presenting. Both of which, I use way more than I ever expected to when taking the classes at the time.

3. As a consultant, I am one of the primary developers for my current client, Orthofix. In our product, Orthofix Direct, we are enhancing the way doctors and sales representatives can get their patients fitted for spinal stimulator. What used to be a long a grueling process, that could sometimes could take up to a month, is now condensed to a single ordering application. By doing this, we can now get these patients fitted quickly and efficiently. So, in this case, not only are we providing a great service to our client, we are helping people in the process! Running full circle, if it were not for my education at Mines, there is no way I would be able to contribute to something that is beneficial to the world. It is why I became a consultant, and it is why I chose CSOrthofix
