3.  For heaven to be our home we must be like Christ: Rom. 8:9  “…we have the mind of Christ” when:  We allow Him to dwell in our hearts (Eph. 3:17; Rom. 10:17; 6:17; Heb. 5:9),  We imitate Him in thought and action (1 Cor. 11:1; 1 Jn. 2:6).  True spiritual life requires us to possess the mind of Christ: Rom. 8:10 3

4.  Christ is the ultimate example of humility: Phil. 2:5-8; Matt. 26:53; 2 Kgs. 19:35  Humility is hard for many, if not most: Matt. 20:25-28; Jn. 13:12-17  Assertiveness/aggressiveness is the way to make it in the world: Prov. 18:12; 1 Pet. 3:4; 5:5-6 4 The glory of exaltation is only found at the end of the road of humiliation! Philippians 2:7-11

5.  Jesus gave up everything for us: 2 Cor. 8:9; Phil. 2:6-8; Isa. 53:3  Acceptable service requires the same of us: Lk. 14:26  Such is opposite the mindset of the world: Rom. 15:3  Let’s totally commit ourselves to unselfishness: Jn. 4:34; Matt. 26:39 5
