STRENGTHENING LATIN AMERICAN MOUNTAIN FORUM MEMBERSHIP Results achieved in 2001: InfoAndina's membership is composed by a wide base of institutions from diverse sectors InfoAndina users are formally registered MF members (institutional & individual), and list subscribers: Institutional Members (18) Individual Members (370) Andean Members (225) Lists subscribers (1,000)

Strengthening Latin American Mountain Forum membership: LISTS InfoAndina moderates the second largest lists of the Mountain Forum. (MF-LAC, InfoAndina-fm), as well as thematic lists (ej. MF-Paramo ). Over these lists, InfoAndina disseminates newsletters on sustainable development issues (InfoNotas), and host E-Conferences

Strengthening Latin American Mountain Forum membership: LISTS In July 2001, InfoAndina and MF-LAC lists merged into a single list: InfoAndina-fm with 900 subscribers InfoAndina 900 MF-LAC 950 InfoAndina 850

INFOANDINA THEMATIC LISTS InfoAndina has setup discussion lists for IYM2002 Committees, specialized crop networks, and CONDESAN Technical Committee These lists are moderated by InfoAndina's partners A total of 555 subscribers over 6 lists InfoAndina provides free training & support to list moderators

SUPPORT IYM2002 ACTIVITIES IN LATIN AMERICA 2001 ACHIEVEMENTS: PERU: InfoAndina is a member of GNTEM, the peruvian IYM2002 Committee, organize the International Mountain Ecosystems Workshop (Cusco, April 2001). Design GNTEM WEB page and co-moderate list PERU_AIM2002. VENEZUELA: InfoAndina project leader was elected member of the International Organizing Committee os the IV Simposium of Mountain Ecosystems (Merida, Nov. 2001) ECUADOR: InfoAndina support the organizers to post into MF lists announcements on Quito World Mountain People’s Meeting BOLIVIA: FAO-BOLIVIA moderates the BOLIVIA_AIM2002 list “Regional IYM2002 newsletter” edited in July 2001 with contributions of partners from Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador & Venezuela

FUNDRAISING STRATEGIES OF INFOANDINA SERVICES OFFERED BY INFOANDINA: E-Conferencing Services Average income: 9,000 USD per E-Conference Fundraising strategy: Seminars & exhibits at IYM2002 regional events Publish printed proceedings Seek multiple sponsorship Seek support from “Ad-Hoc Committtee” Virtual Bookstore sales Average income: $ 500 / year Fundraising strategy: Edit printed catalogue of publications Promote catalogue in exhibits & workshops

WEB Page design & hosting Average income : $ 300 USD x WEB site Fundraising Strategy: Promote WEB pages for IYM2002 events FUTURE INFOANDINA SERVICES : LIST setup & moderation training services List setup fees: $ 100 / list will be charged Moderation training: $ 400 / list will be charged Fundraising Strategy: Seminars for specialized networks Virtual Trade Fair on Andean Biodiversity Strategy: Organize this in the frame of IYM2002 activities
