Fonts Three important things that decide how easy text is to read font font size font colour.

Fonts Change the fonts by : 1. Size 2. Colour 3. Style What other formatting could you apply ?

Fonts Font colour and font style important to assist reading. 1. Legibility: The most legible fonts were Arial, Courier, and Verdana. Comic Sans was found to be the most illegible of the eight fonts evaluated. 2. Attractiveness: Study participants found Georgia and Times New Roman the most attractive fonts.

Text alignment For text that doesn’t have that many words to the line, left alignment works best. Individually - show which tab and buttons need to be selected.

Borders and page colour Borders can be added to word documents to improve the ‘look’ of a document or selected text.

Bullets and Numbering Bullets can make a list of points easier to read. If a list is meant to be read in order, number the points.

Inserting tables A table is a grid of cells arranged in rows and columns. Tables can be customized and are useful for various tasks such as presenting text information and numerical data. columns rows

Inserting Tables To Insert a Blank Table: 1. Place your insertion point in the document where you want the table to appear. 2. Select the Insert tab. 3. Click the Table command. 4. Hover your mouse over the diagram squares to select the number of columns and rows in the table. 5. Click your mouse, and the table appears in the document. 6. You can now place the insertion point anywhere in the table to add text. Have a go !

Adding rows and columns To Add a Row Above an Existing Row: 1. Place the insertion point in a row below the location where you wish to add a row. 2. Right-click the mouse. A menu appears. 3. Select Insert Rows Above. To Add a Column: 1. Place the insertion point in a column adjacent to the location you wish the new column to appear. 2. Right-click the mouse. A menu will appear. 3. Select Insert Columns to the Left or Insert Columns to the Right. A new column appears. To delete a row or column –select delete cells instead of insert
