Averett’s English - Docked in New York in 1735 - Were involved early on in the development of LDS church. Great (x3) Grandfather, Elisha was a general in the Mormon Batallion

Christensen’s Danish - Came to United States in the 1830’s to farm. Settled in northwestern Wyoming in 1860’s Came to Salt Lake in 1960

Family Music Not a very musical family. Grandmother plays a little bit of piano. Grandpa played trombone in High School Band

Outside Influences My Wife likes almost all music She is responsible for me listening to blues, some (very little) country, and indie rock

Formal Musical Timeline I play 5 instruments. Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Violin, and Piano. Began teaching myself piano at 7 (started taking formal lessons a year later) - 22 years Learned Guitar & Bass at age 12 - 17 years Learned Drums at 15 - 14 years Started learning violin at age 21 - 1 year (I gave up)

Informal Musical timeline Dropped out of high school and left home to try to be a rockstar at age 16 Spent 2002-2005 touring with bands Spent 2005-2010 as a sound tech for various musicians, (mostly unknown bands, a couple more famous ones)

Musical Tastes and Influences Instrumental/ambient music 90’s Punk Seattle Grunge/90’s Alternative Early 70’s Rock Nothing from the 1980’s Abba Blues Experimental Rock Progressive Rock Country (from Austin or Nashville Top Bands of all time - Thrice - Lagwagon - No Use For a Name - Led Zeppelin - Pink Floyd - As Tall As Lions - Ben Folds
