Porcelain Crowns (Caps) Crowns can serve many purposes. Crowns can be used to cover a tooth that is likely to break, or is too broken down to restore with a filling. They are often commonly used to protect a tooth from breakage after root canal treatment. __________ Crowns can also be used to modify the appearance of teeth. In this example you will see how all porcelain crowns were used to straighten and whiten a smile.
