Learning Targets 1.The students will understand their responsibility during a fire drill. 2.The students will understand their responsibility during a tornado drill. 3.The students will understand their responsibility during an intruder drill.

Fire Drill Drills are practice in case there is a real fire! Each classroom’s evacuation plan is different. Listen to teacher directions. Leave the classroom as directed. Do not talk with your classmates during the drill. Once you are outside, continue to listen to teacher directions.

Fire when you are in the hall If you are in the hall when the alarm sounds, go to the nearest exit and go outside. Walk to the parking lot, report to your last period teacher and wait for directions.

Fire during lunch If you are at lunch when the alarm sounds, leave your lunch, go to the nearest exit and go outside. Walk to the parking lot, report to your last period teacher and wait for directions.

Tornado Drill Drills are practice in case there is a real tornado! Each classroom’s evacuation plan is different. Listen to teacher directions. Do not talk with your classmates during the drill.

Intruder Drill Drills are practice in case there is a real intruder! Do not let anyone into the building. Listen to teacher directions. Do not talk with your classmates.

“Secure the building, situation inside/outside” If in a classroom, listen to teacher directions. If not in a classroom, report to the nearest classroom as quickly as possible, listen to teacher directions. Protect yourself and classmates. Stay in the room vs. leaving the room.

Learning Targets Revisited 1.Do we understand the school’s fire drill procedures? 2.Did we learn what to do in case there is a tornado drill? 3.Do we know what our responsibilities are during a intruder drill?
