3. Significant results/highlights during the first year project Climatologies for SST, SSS, Currents, Hm0 vs. Tm02 and Hm0 vs. Tp have developed. Software for real time calculation of SST and SSS anomalies developed. 4. Pre-deployment (procedures in short) Design issues – Deep water needed special mooring Maintenance/service issues (periodic/after failure) – Need for a large vessel for periodic maintenance. Scheduling – Scheduling for failure assistance Calibration issues – Mostly on biologic sensors. Solved with monthly cruise. Periodic maintenance is performed 3 times a year. Malfunction or emergency operations are performed on demand

5. Deployment (procedures in short) Means – Ship capable of lifting buoy on board for periodic maintenances and non in-situ repairable malfunction. Smaller ship and divers for in-situ repairable malfunction and/or cleaning operations Maintenance on board – Comprises structural checking, data download, disassembly, check and calibration of sensors, damaged parts substitution and re deployment Testing/Validation – FOAS internals Deployment procedures – No special issues concerning this part WP 2 / WP3 – Technological & Procedural Harmonisation Task 2.1:Review of the current status of all fixed observing sites Task 3.1: Assessment of procedures

6. On the field (procedures in short) Data transfer – Hourly satellite data transfer to land station. Part of the data of waves and ADCP are stored in the dataloger.
