Japan consists of 4 islands Japan has 4 islands, from the north, Hokkaido, Honsyu (main island), Shikoku (the smallest one), and Kyusyu (includes small islands which are called Okinawa). Japan has 48 prefectures. We live in Hyogo prefecture in Honsyu. KOBE Hokkaido Honsyu Shikoku Kyusyu, Okinawa

Seasons in Japan SummerSpring Fall Winter Japan has 4 seasons, it seems like spring and fall are getting shorter and summer and winter are getting longer.

Kobe, Hyogo Kobe is a capital city of Hyogo prefecture, there are 1544000 people and the gross area is 552.3 ㎢. Kobe has a big port so that there were many foreigners came into Kobe. In 1995, January 17 th, there was a big earthquake happened in Kobe. Kobe lost 6434 people. It has been 19 years, the city is now almost reconstructed, however there are still many people struggling from the damage and lost.

Memory of the earthquake This is a memorial event to remember the earthquake which was happened in 1995. The name of this light event is “Luminarie”. This holds during Christmas season and designed by an Italian artist and Japanese artist. Now this is one of the biggest event for boyfriend and girlfriend’s date spot to go around Christmas season.
