3. A Christian Must Be Helping Others And Be Sympathetic To Others (13-15) Practicing care for others  “Distributing” is from same word as “fellowship”  Not a case of “word only” (James 2:15- 16)  “Do good” (Gal. 6:10)  The need of hospitality may be changed, but the pursuit of it has not changed (1 Peter 4:9)

4. We are to react differently than the world in certain situations  Those who persecute intend to do harm Must not retaliate Practice the words of Jesus (Matt. 5:44-45) Example of Stephen (Acts 7:60)  Many are unhappy when others succeed or gloat when they fail We are to function as a unit—as a body (re. v. 4) Notice 1 Corinthians 12:26

5. A Christian Must Display An Attitude Of Brotherhood (16) Brethren must be on the same page  No room for personal agendas (1 Cor. 9:19-23)  All striving together in order to build (Eph. 4:16) There is no place for conceit (1 Cor. 13:4-5) Be of one mind (Phil. 1:27)

6. A Christian Must Treat His Enemies With Kindness (17-21) The world operates on a sizable portion of revenge and retaliation Jesus said to turn the other cheek (Matt. 5:38-41) Vengeance belongs to God, not us Our place is to be kind to an enemy (Lk. 6:35)
