www.ingede.org 2 Eco Label Printed Matter, AHWG Meeting, 09 November 2004 Recyclabilty of printed graphic products mainly refers to two characteristics: Deinkability Removability of adhesive applications Using the INGEDE Methods, data about the recyclability of printed products were collected The results were evaluated and they form the "orientation values" for recyclability At present these are in discussion within the Technical Committee Deinking. Orientation Values for the Evaluation of Recyclability – Proceeding

www.ingede.org 16 Eco Label Printed Matter, AHWG Meeting, 09 November 2004 Requirements for Adhesive Appl. in view of a good Recyclability Adhesives should be engineered and applied on paper that they will: Disintegrate during pulping in fractions large enough which can be removed by standard screening procedures to a maximum degree. Not lead to the forming of secondary stickies during the deinking and papermaking processes.
