College Essay Unit Assignments and Due Dates: Friday, 10/25- outlines/structures Feedback on Drafting Plan H.W. Type Draft 1 of your personal narrative. Include: MLA Heading, label as Draft 1, double-spaced,12 point Font/Times/Calibri (50 pts.) *Do not turn in essays you have already sent to colleges or ones you have already finished revising with others. Monday, 10/28-Turn in typed Draft 1. Introduce Writing Workshops and Reviewing Peer’s essays Tuesday, 10/29- Writer’s Workshop: Workshop Member One's Essay in groups (10 points) Workshop Member Two’s Essay in groups (10 points) Wednesday, 10/30- Workshop Member Three’s essays (10 points) Workshop Member Four’s essays (10 points) Thursday, 10/31- Workshop Member Five’s essays (10 points) Draft 2 due on 11/4-MONDAY

In a narrative (story) style take us to the moment leading to your epiphany Exposition: Setting and Character Description (sights, sounds, smells, tastes, weather, season, year, location) Rising Action (crisis/dilemma): reveal the obstacle, challenge, or internal conflict you faced Climax: reveal your epiphany, the moment of realization, the light bulb goes on Resolution: display how you, your life, or your outlook on life changed as a result of your epiphany. Hook End with a bang (can be funny, quirky, or mirror your hook) Epiphany/Moment Essay
