NEW KINGDOM 1500 b.c. – 1100 b.c. ► GOVERNMENT Reign of Ramses II – Pharaoh ► ACCOMPLISHMENTS Ramses won battles Major win over the Hittites Developed what was thought to be first peace treaty 1 st women Pharaoh (Queen Hatshepsut) ► REASON FOR DECLINE Invaders conquered the Nile region Greeks and Romans marched into Nile River Valley
