The trusting relationship enables the CHW to serve as a liaison/link/intermediary between health/social services and the community to facilitate access to services and improve the quality and cultural competence of service delivery. Some of them have gone out, but you're still in a culture that's very entrenched and sometimes those who are at the top, they don't do it. They don't go out.
