16 Andrew Jackson Invades Florida  First Seminole War  Prompted by troubles with the Indians in Florida Andrew Jackson, acting under ‘dubious’ authority, decides to invade.  He hangs two British subjects, reoccupies Pensacola and raises the American Flag  Clear violation of international law, his ‘hero’ status exempts him from prosecution.
