3 History is… The study of past events and figures

4 About studying how people and events in different places are related to each other

5 About looking for patterns and themes that appear and reappear in human history.

7 So, why does history matter? Shows us where we came from and how we got here Teaches people to… ◦Interpret & make sense of information to support their opinions & arguments ◦Examine information & decide whether or not it’s useful/true/accurate/etc. Discuss with a partner for 1-2 minutes & be prepared to share your answer.
