1848 Seneca Falls, NY – The first women's rights convention took place.

1852 – Susan B. Anthony joined the fight saying “The right women needed above every other was the right of suffrage.”

1872 – Susan B. Anthony is arrested for voting illegally in the 1872 election.

1878 – An amendment was proposed saying that “The right of citizens to vote shall not be abridged by the U.S. or by any state on account of sex.”

1900 – New states were being made, The new states allowed women to vote.

1912 – Roosevelt and his party started to support women suffrage.

1919 – the amendment was sent out for ratification, it almost failed because of Tennessee, but they came through. Women had won the right to vote.
