Food & Beverage Innovation CFWI Innovation Centre Mandate : Support the revitalization of the local economy and beyond by providing SMEs with the opportunity to leverage Niagara College’s resources and capabilities in food and beverage innovation. Current Funding: Canadian Food & Wine Institute ($2.3 million, 5-year grant) NSERC CCI Culinary & Food Science Labs ($1.7 million in infrastructure) CFI & ORF Industry contributions toward projects We serve: SMEs in food and beverage industries (e.g., hops growers, craft brewers, etc.) Focus on local and regional businesses, with a national scope

Food & Beverage Innovation What we do: Collaborate with SMEs to develop or improve food and beverage products and services, AND assist in commercialization by applying the following research capabilities: Product and process development Consumer testing and sensory analysis Shelf-life analysis Food and beverage analysis Labelling and packaging assistance Food and beverage regulatory assistance Business services and commercialization
