Project 1:(A) Qualities of effective teams; Mission Statement Goals and Objectives Business Plan Flow Chart Goals: Enhance the student’s understanding of team dynamics. Apply the principles of team coordination in the formulation of a mission statement, strategic plan and business objectives Demonstrate the ability to translate linear concepts into a visual flow chart of activities.

Objectives 1-3 will be described in the team paper. (1)Define the qualities of effective teams. Example: The Wellness Institute Mission Statement: The Wellness Institute exists to promote sound health practices and improve the quality of life for it’s members by summarizing research on nutrition and physical activity, targeting documented positive health behaviors and providing education and training to embrace such behaviors. Project 1:(A) Strategic Plan 1: Research Initiative: The research initiative will provide the tools to identify scientific studies in the area of nutrition and physical activity that indicate a protective effect against the risk of chronic disease.

Project 1:(A) Strategic Plan 2: Health Initiative: The health initiative will promote those nutrition and physical activity behaviors that research suggests will improve wellness and decrease the risk of chronic disease.

Project 1:(A) Goal 2a: Members will recognize nutrition related behaviors that may decrease the risk of chronic disease. Objective 1: Identify the components of nutrition behavior such as the selection of food because of taste factors. Objective 2: Develop a self-evaluation tool of desirable nutrition behaviors.
