In 1979 I moved to Royal Perth Hospital in order to become more experienced with cardiology and open heart surgery, which was only performed at that hospital in Perth. In the first 6 months of 1982, I was to be a haematology registrar looking after the bone marrow transplant patients. By 1981 I could function better as a single unfunded scientist than many units with multiple support staff. I got an internship and residencies in internal medicine at the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre. Robin Warren helped me in my training when I was encouraged to perform a clinical research project each year. He is a good friend of mine and ahs helped me a lot in my research. Michael Plankey was my Nuclear technician who was my friend and was also part of my team. He helped me with many of my experiments. Matthew Coombs was also part of my team and was a good friend of my mine. He was the post-doctoral. Bruce McCarty was my friend and taught me a lot about how business works best in a trusting and responsible way to benefit everyone. Bruce died in 2004 Adrienne Marshall is my wife who was a psychology student, at the University of Western Australia. We have four children and she has supported me in my research.
