Our Local Development Strategy Vision: ‘to create a more vibrant and sustainable local economy by supporting services and facilities, developing the business base, and employment capacities, and sensitively exploiting our cultural and natural assets’ Themes: Theme 1: Heritage, tourism and leisure Theme 2: Community services and facilities Theme 3: Local business and employment Common Features: Canal Antonine Wall John Muir Way Employability cross-cutting theme

Grant Schemes Overall budget: £2.8m Main Fund: open to community organisations, voluntary organisations, third sector organisations, charitable and public bodies. Applications should fit with Local Development Strategy Farm Diversification and Rural Enterprise: farm diversification is open to farmers looking to diversify into non-farming activity Rural enterprise is open to those setting up or expanding a rural business linked to Theme 1 (Heritage, tourism and leisure) Co-operation Fund: for joint work with other LEADER areas in Scotland, the UK and Europe

How Much Is Available? Main Fund: between £5,000 and £125,000. We will usually fund up to 50% of eligible costs. Farm Diversification and Rural Enterprise: between £5,000 and £25,000. We will usually fund up to 50% of eligible costs.
