3. Teacher Introduction/Background -My name is Maureen Guzman and I have been a teacher for about 9 years. -I have been here in Cranbury for about a year and a half. -BA Secondary Education & MA Linguistics

4. Curriculum: New Jersey World Language State Standards Course: Standards focus on reading writing, listening, viewing, speaking, & culture. Curriculum & Course:

5. Course Goal: Students will develop their speaking, reading, and writing skills in the target language in order to one day be able to utilize the language in a real world setting.

6. Grading System: Grades are determined by the point system. Students grades will be based on: class work, homework, projects, and daily participation points.

8. Grade 4: TV programming -Beginning in the month of October there will be an assignment that will require students to watch television and specific programming in the target language. (see handout) -date due will be given on first week of the month -Regular month: 2 a month/30 min. each. -Bilingual programming: Dora, Go Diego Go, Maya and Miguel -Any DVD: change language settings to Spanish if available.
