Gaston Early College ●This exclusive, non-traditional high school offers Gaston County students a unique opportunity to receive a high school diploma while earning an Associate of Arts degree from the community college. ●Students get application from School Counselors after Gaston Early College presents to Mount Holly Middle. School Counselors will turn into GEC. ●Applications are usually due the last day of February.

5. Highland School of Technology ●Designed around an Academy Pathway, it features rigorous academic and technical curricula for students in grades 9-12. ●Information about the lottery process is available in late January each year. Mailings will be sent to eligible students and online applications may be printed and submitted. ●The application deadline is usually the last day of February. ●The lottery is held in March when students are in the eighth grade. A waiting list is established from the lottery. Students must be Gaston County residents to apply and attend Highland. ●Both Highland and Gaston Early College provide transportation.
