Others however, will be much larger and could require a fundamental reshaping and whole-scale restructure of the teams involved. Regardless of the scale of each review, these are uncertain times for everyone involved and we are working closely with our Trade Union colleagues to carefully manage each individual process so that any affected staff receive regular communication, updates and as much support as possible. “ 7 Sept 2015 Engagement and Communication

We will continue to move from proactivity and prevention to a more reactive and responsive approach to focus resources on key legislative priority areas

We will focus on externally funded economic development and strategic planning work

It is proposed however to integrate the functions covered by the school organisation and planning team into the existing structure. Purpose of this post Lead technical and strategic adviser to enable the Council to fulfil its role as strategic authority for Local Plans, major developments and working with the LEP. Key job specific accountabilities 1.To fulfil the Council’s responsibility as a statutory consultee on major developments and in the preparation of Local Plans by the District Councils in line with the Council’s constitution. 1.Provide professional advice, expertise and evidence on planning, education and economic development matters to help enable delivery of infrastructure improvements, including the development of solutions to complex technical transport, flood and education infrastructure schemes. 1.To identify, access and develop plans for infrastructure improvements within the county that will support economic growth and in line with Council priorities, including Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects. 1.Work with internal and external partners to support delivery of the LEP’s Strategic Economic Plan and the Council’s Area Plans. 1.To undertake other duties as may be required within the general scope of the post and commensurate with the grade.
