WHAT IS ADVANCED PLACEMENT (AP)? AP courses are designed to prepare students to write the AP exams High school students can earn university credit, placement, or both for qualifying AP Exam scores. Each AP Exam has a corresponding AP course and provides a standardized measure of what students have learned in the AP classroom.

WHO CAN TAKE AP COURSES? AP courses can be taken by any student at Bloor Pre-AP courses are offered for the Sciences in grade 11 and are recommended Each AP Course has an Course fee of $50 Students wishing to write AP exams are responsible for the cost of the exam (approx. $120) TOPS on Bloor enrichment fees cover ONE course fee and ONE exam fee in each of grade 11 & grade 12

Move directly into 2 nd year biology with a result of 4 or better on the AP Biology Exam AP exam results are scored on a scale of 1-5 5 = extremely well qualified 4 = well qualified 3 = qualified 2 = possibly qualified 1 = no recommendation

Experienced teachers who have been developing the AP program since 2009 Excellent results 75% of exams written at Bloor C.I. scored a 3 or higher (qualified to extremely qualified) 63% of Bloor students that wrote AP exam(s) scored a 4 or higher Growing Program Depth 2D Studio Design (TGG3M0) added in 2014-15 Physics 1(SPH3UP) added in 2014-15 English Language & Compostion (ENG3U0) for 2017-8
