Once Egypt become a United Kingdom,

its history is divided in three main periods:

Old Kingdom Middle Kingdom and New Kingdom

The first notable pharaoh of the Old Kingdom was Djoser

During his 20 year reign, the country suffered

a famine for seven years.

He ordered the building of the Step Pyramid

But it is in the 4 th Dynasty that Egypt hits the Golden Age

The 4 th Dynasty began with Snefru.

Snefru was a kind Pharaoh but his son Khufu,

also known as Cheops, was cruel,

He closed temples and ordered forced labor to build his

Great Pyramid of Giza

The Great Pyramid is the largest stone building ever build.

It is 482 ft high and contains over

2,000,000 blocks of stones.

It was the tallest building in the world till the 20 th century.

Khafre, also known as Chepren, was Khufu’s son.
