A2 media : music video planning Lauryn Clarke Hayles

SETTINGS I think that the some scenes should be set in a studio, due to the fact that our song doesn't’t require anything to fussy. Due to the lyrics of our songs, I think that we should have flash back scenes to memorable areas, for example, a bedroom or a restaurant, or a walk in the park. I think we should also have a kitchen scene to convey and argument, to show how comfortable they two actresses are as a couple I think we should also have a small street scene to show their separation.

Colour/ lightings I think the music video should have scenes of black and white. This would look particularly effective in the scenes shot in the studio. I think the black and white effect would look interesting at the end of a montage/memory. It could pause/freeze, then quickly change to black and white to enhance a significant shot.

Costume I think the main singer should be wearing plain clothes, nothing to complicated or fussy as it may draw too much attention away from what is happening in the music video. Although the artists clothes will be plain, I think they should still be attractive and appeal to his target audience as he still has to appeal to his target audience. This means that he could wear a clean (freshly ironed ) white top/shirt/t-shirt with a nice fitted pair of trousers (colour isn’t important) and a cool, on trend pair of shoes/trainers I think his hair should also be perfectly cut and skin should have a small amount of make-up to make him look flawless. If there is a female actress in the music video, I think she should have a variety of costumes, most of these should be very sexy and attractive. If there is a scene in a bedroom, I think that the female actress should wear a short dressing gown, or large but short t-shirt. If there was a scene is a restaurant or a date, she would be well dressed, preferably heels and a classy but appealing outfit. This could be, a nice pair of jeans and a blouse or top (whatever the actress wears, should compliment their assets). Make-up and hair should be done very well also, so that we can do close up shots

Additional actors If there is any additional people in this music video, I think there should only be one more, which would be a female. This female should be presented voyeuristically, however, I think that the artist should interact with her as though she is someone of worth.

Camera shots & Editing I think there should be a lot of close ups, allowing the audience to clearly identify the relationship between the two characters. I think long shots or wide angel shots should be used to show scenes/settings/location. I think slow motion could be used in this music video, due to the fact that the song is so slow. I think slow motion could be used in this music video, due to the fact that the song is so slow. We have to make sure that our cuts aren’t exactly the same, because the song is slow, so in order to keep the audience entertained we will have to mix up the paste of our shots
