WHAT IS A PI KAPPA ALPHA ALUMNI ASSOCIATION? As an extension of the Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity, alumni associations are: Groups of alumni and friends connected to the International Fraternity and each other through leadership, programming, communication and membership

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF AN ALUMNI ASSOCIATION? A Pi Kappa Alpha alumni association exists to promote the brotherhood of Epsilon Omicron by providing an outlet for casual alumni interaction Alumni associations allow the opportunity for Pike alumni to continue to benefit from their membership through fellowship, networking, social engagements, and a variety of other interactions Plan events so that alumni can maintain interest

WHAT ARE SOME EVENT IDEAS? Examples of events include: Golf Outing Barbecue at local geo area – Alumni’s House Outing to a sporting event (school or pro league) Holiday reception Alumni-undergraduate sporting event Homecoming Founders Day (March 2, 1868) Chapter scholarship dinner Happy Hour at local geo area establishment Sponsored chapter recruitment event Tailgates or pre/post game receptions Civic activities (blood drive, food drive, etc.)

HOW MANY ALUMNI ARE THERE? Since 1960 there have been over 1,200 alumni to come through Epsilon Omicron National has provided us with a data base that has 1,167 living alumni names (with initiation date and addresses)

WHERE ARE WE LOCATED? Dallas Area Dallas Area = 237 with 104 good email address Houston Area Houston Area = 269 with 84 good email address East Texas Area East Texas Area = 298 with 64 good email address West and Central Texas Area West and Central Texas Area = 207 with 77 good email address Out of Texas Out of Texas = 117 with 40 good e-mail address

WHAT ARE WE DOING WITH THIS DATA? Our goal is to get a good e-mail address for all of the alumni in our data base (1,100+) Currently we have 369 good e-mail addresses (35% penetration rate) Would like to get to 50% rate by September 2013

WHY IS THAT IMPORTANT? So that we can reach out to the alumni via the following: Quarterly Newsletter Issue number 1 sent April 2, 2013 Facebook update Currently have the following groups on Facebook EO Alumni 1960 to Present 1970 – 1980 group 1980 – 1990 group E-mail updates to all alumni 1960 – Present mail group (main one) 1960 – 1970 mail group 1970 – 1980 mail group Web site (under construction)

WHAT IS NEXT? Teams continue to contact “lost” alumni Start on Little Sister data base Build momentum where the assoc will continue to grow and become a “goto” source for any alumni events Transition into a mentor group for the re-established PKA chapter at SFA HAVE FUN and continue to do events like this.
