Significant Safety Achievements- 10/15 Follow-up regarding the 70-295 pressure reactor incident is on-going: –All ETA technical areas were searched for pressure reactors. Several found. –All ETA lab areas surveyed for pressure/high temperature equipment. –ETA Work Activities with high pressure hazards were reviewed and areas visited. –Participated in the LBNL incident review. –Safety Alert issued regarding requirements for pressure reactors. The old chemical clean-out in 70-264 has been completed and made ready for new occupants. The 2016 Self Assessment Plan has been completed and submitted to OCA. The Chemical Spill Preparedness Self Assessment project report has been completed and submitted to OCA. All ETA work activities were migrated to their individual divisions. All ETA chemical inventories in CMS were migrated to their individual divisions. Quarterly SAA hazardous waste inspections were completed. An ETA Safety Committee meeting was held.

Short Term Safety Outlook 11/15 Participate in the lab area stand-downs scheduled for 11/13 and 11/20. Participate in the DOE lab area NFPA 45 walkthroughs of ETA lab areas. Provide follow-up regarding the 70-295 pressure reactor incident as required. Work Activity updates, training, etc. planned. Continue to address ETA equipment on the electrical equipment “fail” list. Complete the final 5 Work Activities pending in EHS collaboration. These are for B33 JCESR. Complete the set-up for new lab areas B33 JCESR and B60 air conditioning test chambers. Complete CATS items identified from glove box self-assessment project. Develop standardized spill cleanup kits for ETA lab areas.
