Look at the Movie Choice Essay Part B – Outline … let’s determine what’s important Your essay needs to have: an introductory paragraph that includes a thesis statement 1st body paragraph that possibly includes a call to adventure, the ordinary world, and maybe whether the hero was reluctant or willing 2 nd body paragraph might include the hero’s mentor, enemies, or how he/she was tested 3 rd body paragraph could reveal their tragic flaw and their journey home A concluding paragraph that includes the elixir/prize, reiterates the main points, and leaves us with an final opinion that evokes thought. It needs to be in MLA format and include a Works Cited page that includes your movie.

Body Paragraphs A topic sentence is a sentence that captures the meaning of the entire paragraph or group of sentences. It tells what the passage is mainly about. The concluding sentence tends to restate the topic sentence. It lets the reader know that the paragraph is over. NOTE: YOU SHOULD NOT BE SUMMARIZING THE MOVIE !!

Just as the doctor’s attire of a stethoscope and lab coat symbolizes credibility, a writer can use tools such as specific quotes from a text, the format of the paper, and correct punctuation/grammar to help convince the audience (the readers) that he is a credible writer.

How should I format the quotes? Think of the Quote Sandwich First, you have to introduce the quote. This is your top piece of bread. Second, use the quote. This is the “good stuff” in the middle of your sandwich. Third, analyze the quote. This is your bottom piece of bread.
