What is Pathway to the Baccalaureate? How do you become a part of the program? Benefits to the program in high school and at NOVA. What are Guaranteed Admissions agreements? Being in Pathway does not bind you to have to attend NOVA. The application deadline is November 6, 2015. Ms. Sanders will be at Hayfield on Fridays in Madison Hall starting at the end of October. Time: 8:30am to 3pm Pathway to the Baccalaureate

Application Secondary School Report Transcripts Standardized Test Scores Essays or Personal Statement- if required Letter(s) of Recommendation- if required Resume and other supplemental information Application Fee (limited fee waivers available) COMPONENTS OF COLLEGE APPLICATIONS

First three transcripts will be sent free of charge. Additional copies cost $5.00 per transcript. Make checks payable to Hayfield Secondary School. Must include two first class letter stamps for each application. Submit transcript request forms to the counselor. Deadlines – typically 2 weeks notice Transcript Requests

Supplemental Information about the student within the context of Hayfield HSS will use the “NACAC Secondary School Report” form for all colleges Secondary School Reports

Student Information Form Parent Brag Sheet (optional) Resume or Student Activity Form Give at least two weeks’ notice to counselors to complete recommendation – however, the earlier the better!! Letter of Recommendation - Counselor

Give at least three weeks notice Give teacher stamped – addressed envelope for teacher to mail directly ** Virginia Tech will only accept one letter, must be submitted along with the transcript (teachers can email letters to counselors) Online submission – varies by school Letter of Recommendation - Teacher

Scholarships Listed on Family Connection- read directions carefully College –specific scholarships- consult college’s website Free Application for Federal Student Aid – FAFSA.GOV Fill out anytime AFTER January 1, 2016, deadlines vary Submit using 2014 tax forms- don’t wait to do 2015 taxes! CSS/Profile- SOME colleges Extra form required by these VA colleges: U. of Virginia, William & Mary, U. of Richmond, and Washington & Lee Can fill out starting October 1 Financial Options
