1 Garlic Plants By: Kaitlin Keenan

2 Big Question Will garlic grow faster in potting soil or compost.
I thought of this question because I was wondering witch garlic will grow faster.

3 Hypothesis I think that the garlic in compost will grow faster than garlic in potting soil. I think this because compost has more natural minerals than potting soil.

4 Interesting Facts Garlic Grows faster under a light than in sunlight.
Garlic is the 15th hardest plant to grow. Garlic is the only plant you can over water and it does not wither. Garlic does not take more than 2 days to sprout. Garlic does not grow in the spring because the light form the sun when it rains dims and the weather in the summer is not the same as the weather in the spring.

5 Materials Potting soil Compost Pen note book 2 Garlic bulbs 2 pots
Water 2 rulers Measuring cup

6 Steps First get the two pots and fill them to about the middle of the pot one with compost and one with potting soil. Then you dig a hole in the soil and put the two garlic bulbs in the soil where you dug the hole. Then you fill the rest of the pot with what you did before.

7 Continued….. You take your rulers and stick them in the sides of your plant. Then you water the plant one fourth of a cup of water everyday. Then you take notes every week. You need to make sure you do all of this in the correct order and you will have a garlic plant in about a month or two.

8 Control and variable Control- My control is my potting soil in my experiment. Variable- My variable is compost and my soil in my experiment.

9 Observations On day # 21 Plant B was 7 and one half of and inch tall. Plant A was 1 and a half of an inch tall. On day #38 Plant b was 10 and one half of an inch tall and Plant A was 3 and one half of an inch tall. Day # 45 plant B was 12 and two fourths of an inch tall and plant A was 7 and a half of and inch. Day #52 plant B is 14 and two thirds of an inch tall Plant A was 9 inches tall.

10 Data Ask Mrs. Horne about this is do not get this.

11 Analysis of Data Ask Mrs. Horne about this I do not get this.

12 Conclusion No my hypothesis was not correct.
I would change what I used like compost I would change to fertilizer. I am wondering if fertilizer would help a plant grow. If my hypothesis would have been correct if I would of did I will another seed or bulb.
