Graduation Requirements 34 units available 28 units required to graduate ○ 1 unit = 1 year long class or 2 semester classes 15 required core units ○ 4 units English ○ 3 units Math ○ 3 units Natural Science ○ 3 units Social Science ○ 1 unit PE/Health/Strength ○ 1 unit of Fine Arts 13 units of electives

Credit Recovery Options If you fail a required course: Summer School Success – credit recovery class at PHS Retake the course

Concurrent Credit Courses Dual credit through FSCC Students take at PHS, enroll and pay FSCC ACT or COMPASS score requirements Plan ahead – no financial aid, $92 / credit hour

Kansas Board of Regents Guaranteed admission to KU, KSU, WSU, FHSU, PSU and ESU Complete the KBOR Curriculum with at least a 2.0 GPA Achieve ONE of the following ○ ACT score of 21 or higher ○ SAT score of 980 or higher ○ Graduate in the top third of your class Achieve a C or better on all college credit courses taken in high school

KBOR Precollege Curriculum 4 units of English 3 units of Natural Science, 1 unit must be Chemistry or Physics 3 units of Math and an ACT sub score of 22 or 4 units of Math 3 units of Social Science, 1 unit of World History, 1 unit of US History and ½ unit of US Government 3 units of approved electives

Kansas Scholars Curriculum To be eligible to be named as a Kansas Scholar you must Take Biology, Chemistry and Physics Take 4 units of Math (Algebra 1 and higher) ○ Algebra 1 at the middle school level counts Complete 2 units of the same foreign language Kansas Scholars profile for 2012 3.91 GPA and a 30 ACT score

Fort Scott Community College Hillsdale Tech Campus Juniors and Seniors that attend the tech campus will be enrolled in 4 blocks at Paola High School and 4 blocks at the tech campus. Transportation to and from the tech campus located in Hillsdale will be provided. The courses offered at the tech campus are tuition free college courses under SB 155 (also known as the Career Technical Education Initiative). While they are tuition free, there may be some fees associated depending on the program. The following programs are being offered: Administrative Specialist Business Computers Criminal Justice Environmental Technology Manicuring Medical Office Assistant Health Careers—to remain in Paola (only 2 blocks) Visit with a Paola High School Counselor for more information.

Enrollment Process Program of Studies – www.usd368.orgwww.usd368.org Paper Enrollment forms given out in seminar (PHS) February 23 rd, due to seminar teacher by March 23 rd ○ Your name PRINTED at the top ○ Parent signature and seminar teacher signature at the bottom Registration will be done online, March 9 th -23 rd Done on student Infinite Campus account ○ PMS, see Sue Silver if you need help ○ PHS, see Linda Rice if you need help Deadline for online registration is March 23 rd ○ Printed course registration, with parent signature, due by this date PHS—turn in to seminar teacher PMS & Holy Trinity—turn in to office

Enrollment Process Enrollment PT Conferences / Career Fair March 9 th May complete online registration and turn in all paperwork to seminar teacher on the 9th Online Registration March 9 th – March 23 rd Not 1 st come 1 st serve but needs to be completed by March 23 rd Matching forms does not mean matching schedules Do not allow teacher requests

Choosing Courses Required – 9 th —English, Math, Science, PE 10 th —English, Math, Science, World History 11 th -English, Math, Science, US History 12 th —English, Government, Math for KBOR if needed ○ Early release Not able to request at this time Application must be completed and approved before it can be on your schedule Must request a full load both semesters Total of 8 classes per semester – pay attention to yearlong vs. semester Alternate courses – very important
