GOING DIRECTLY TO A 4-YEAR COLLEGE? Must meet A-G requirements only 51% graduate within 6 years

HIGH SCHOOL MATH AND COLLEGE: 83% of students who took calculus graduated from a 4-year college 75% for pre-calculus 60% for Trigonometry 40% for Algebra II

WHO GRADUATES FROM COLLEGE Only 9% of students who are poor (Parents make less than $26,000 a year) graduate from college 54% of students who come from rich families

WHAT DO YOUR PARENTS HAVE TO DO WITH GRADUATING FROM COLLEGE? Only 11% of students that have parents who never obtained a degree will graduate from college

GIRLS? BE CAREFUL!!!!!! Girls who have a child in High School have a 1% chance of graduating from college by 30 years of age

WHAT ABOUT LOCAL JR. COLLEGES? 98% of all students who attended San Jacinto College had to remediate

WHAT IF YOU DON’T MEET A-G REQUIREMENTS? Only 35% of students who remediate graduate from 4-year college (if they go directly to a 4-year college) That number is significantly lower if a student attends a community college

WHO CARES ABOUT 4-YEAR COLLEGE; I’M ATTENDING A JR. COLLEGE—IT’S CHEAPER Only 4% of community college students transfer to a 4-year institution within two years
