Hymn 109 Go when the morning’s shining
2
1 Go when the morning’s shining go when the noon is bright, go when the day’s declining, go in the hush of night. Go with pure mind and feeling, cast earthly thought away, and in seclusion kneeling to God in secret pray.

2 Remember all who love you, all who are loved by you; pray, too, for those who hate you, the poor and lonely too. Then for yourself, in meekness, a blessing humbly claim, and offer each petition to Jesus’ holy name.

3 Or if it is denied you in secrecy to pray, but prayerful thoughts come to you with friends or on your way, still then the silent pleading your spirit lifts above will reach his throne of glory, of mercy, truth, and love.

4 No single joy or blessing with this can we compare, the power that he has given us to pour our souls in prayer. Whenever struck by sadness, before his footstall fall; remember then with gladness his grace, who gives you all. Jane Cross Bell Simpson 1811-1886
