3 THE MOSQUE 1.) Minaret: Tall dome or tower where the call to prayer is issued. A muezzin leads the faithful in this call.

4 THE MOSQUE 2.) WUDU STATION : To perform the ritual cleansing required before prayers, mosques come equipped with running water stations.

5 THE MOSQUE 3.) NO SHOES PLEASE!!: Before the interior of the mosque, Muslims take off their shoes as a sign of respect and acknowledgement that it is sacred space. 3.) 6 THE MOSQUE 4.) No Seats!!: Worshippers are required to pray on a floor covered with carpets or other floor coverings.

7 THE MOSQUE 5.) Minbar: This is a raised pulpit that an imam (the leader of a Muslim faith community) delivers a sermon from just before Friday midday prayers.

8 THE MOSQUE 6.) Mihrab: This is a small arch on one wall that points to the Kabah in Mecca. This arch is a focal point so that prayer is directed towards the city of Mecca.
