Means of transport help us to travel from one place to another.

We can travel by road ways.

How the Space Shuttle Works
10
The space shuttle is the most complicated vehicle the mankind has ever created.
And pound for pound it is the most expensive. The shuttle and its cargo weigh over pounds. Each of the two solid rocket boosters creates two and a half million pounds of thrust. Each of the three main engines creates pounds of thrust. So the whole shuttle can create about six and a half million pounds of thrust. Why do you need six and a half million pounds of thrust to lift something that only weighs pounds? That is because the fuel itself weighs a lot. You have roughly six and a half million pounds of thrust to lift about four and a half million pounds of weight in the air. You have two million pounds of thrust to accelerate. Fortunately the fuel is getting lighter with every passing second. It takes the engines about eight minutes to do their job. At that point the shuttle is flying weightless in the orbit. Now the astronauts can unstrap and start their mission. They spend their time either in the crew compartment or in the payload bay. The crew compartment has all the comforts of home: a kitchen, a restroom, beds, a shower. But things are packed pretty tight.
11
Up to eight people may be on board.
Either the shuttle puts something new in the orbit or it flies with a complete lab in its cargo bay. The payload compartment is sixty feet long and can hold about pounds of cargo. A school bus is about the size of the cargo bay. The space shuttle has a huge cargo capacity.

For deorbit, the orbiter is rotated tail first. The boosters separate from the orbiter and its external tank. The orbiter decelerates by aero-braking. In the landing phase, it is like a glider. The shuttle lifts off the pad.

Living in Bratislava: Transportation

Living in Budapest: Transportation

The public transportation network gives an easy access to all districts.
Many suburban residents rely on a car. Parking in the crowded streets is limited. Many people rely on taxis. The public transportation network includes subway, trams, trolleys, buses, and commuter trains. Tickets and passes can be purchased at major stations. There are ticket machines at many stops. The cost of tickets remains low compared to other cities. Passes can be purchased for one day, three days, one week, one month, six months, and one year. A passport photo is required for passes covering a month or more. Tickets can be purchased individually or in books of ten or twenty tickets.
21
The system for connecting and using the same ticket is complicated.
It is best to validate the new ticket for each leg of your journey. When riding the metro validate your ticket as you enter the station. In trams, buses, and trolleys validate your ticket once aboard. Electronic boxes in newer buses automatically validate your ticket. In older buses you have to validate your ticket manually. Stick the ticket into the validation box. Pull the black latch toward you until it clicks. The staff performs random checks at the entry and exit of subway stops. You need to show your validated ticket. You are issued a ticket and expected to pay a fine a few thousands of forints on the spot.

One of the best ways to learn about the city you are living in, especially Budapest, is to venture out onto the public transportation system. Budapest has an extremely efficient network of over two hundred bus routes, fifteen trolley buses, thirty tram routes, three Metro lines and four suburban train lines. Large maps at the entrances of Metro stations show the entire Budapest transit network. General service hours are 4:30 AM to 11 PM. Outside of these hours, main routes are serviced by night buses. Not only is the system reliable, safe and punctual, it offers a cheap and easy method of covering the city. Budapešť má a) trolejbusových, b) tramvajových, c) příměstských vlakových, d) autobusových, e) metro linek.
