3 Introduction  Rationale Social networking sites accused of drops in grades Facebook is currently the most popular social networking website, with over 500 million members. Massive number of members has caught the attention of the academic sector and also us.

5 Introduction  Research Objectives The aims of this project are: To investigate whether using Facebook affects the academic grades of pupils. To find out the pupils opinions on whether using Facebook affects their grades. To find ways for students to manage their time better and reduce their time spent on Facebook.

6 Introduction  Justification of Choice Currently, many students have problems getting their homework done or studying for their exams due to computer addiction. One of the many online networking sites that students spend a lot of time on is Facebook.

7 Methodology  Survey Respondents: 20 Year 4 students selected at random Reason for choice: –Longest and most experienced in school –Know how to manage time better Question format: 9 MCQ and OEQ questions in total Procedure: Draft questions Carry out pilot survey Review Questions Actual survey

8 Methodology  Interview Interviewee (1): Mrs. Jacqueline Chua, head of Character Education Reason for choice: –Interaction with students with problems –Know pupils’ behavior and thoughts well Interviewee (2): Mr. Leo Hee Khian, school counselor Reason for choice: –Counseled students with problems –Have advised and solve many students’ social problems
