Responsibility

You are responsible... Slide Title As a committee member you hold a position of responsibility. This means that if there is a disciplinary within your club, responsibility could fall on you, even if you weren't involved. Consequences could be that you are stripped of your role and restricted from being on any committee in the future. You could also have to face Students' Union and University Disciplinary procedures.

There have been a lot of changes... Slide Title You have to do everything we have covered whilst operating within the Students' Unions policies and procedures. Some Policies and Procedures will be covered in more detail shortly but I would strongly recommend that you familiarise yourself with all of them. They can be viewed on the Students' Union Website.

It includes details about: Purpose Membership Committee Meetings Roles Finance Winding Up You will all have to sign the constitution to show that you agree on and understand how your club should operate

What's the process? Slide Title The process can be viewed on the Students' Union website and anytime. Let's go through it step by step It's vital that everyone registers on the SU website and pay's the appropriate membership and it's your responsibility as a committee to make sure members complete the process. We will be doing spot checks at training and before fixtures!

Walkovers Slide Title HALLAM DON'T DO WALKOVERS In 2014/15, Hallam lost 39 League Points and 62.5 BUCS Points through walkovers - without these walkovers, the university could have moved up to 17 th place in the BUCS ranking! One walkover: loss of three league points and half of your overall BUCS points Two walkovers: further loss of three league points and all BUCS points. Withdrawn from knockout competitions. (Prem teams - automatically relegated) Three or more walkovers: further loss of 3 points per occurrence, £100-£250 fine and a £50-£100 fine for every additional walkover How to avoid this? Problem with a fixture? - Play Under Protest Slide Title Upon arriving at a fixture, if the team feels that there is a breach in any BUCS regulations (e.g. pitch is wrongly marked, team turning up late, ineligible player) they can complete a playing under protest form. Tips for playing under protest: Play the game! Bring a Playing Under Protest form to every game Complete the form being factual and objective Get evidence Hand in the form to the Students' Union by 12noon the day after your fixture BUCS will judge the form based on the "effect that the grievance had on the result of the fixture".

Team Sheets Slide Title Team Sheets 1. Download a team sheet from the weekly Friday email or Club Committee ResourcesClub Committee Resources 2. Send a copy of your team sheet to the SU by 12pm the day before your fixture 3. Bring completed team sheets (noting kit numbers) to every fixture along with student IDs 4. Exchange with the opposition before kick off, complete the second half of the team sheet 5. Hand in completed team sheet to Students' Union by 3pm the following day

Your BUCS Week Slide Title YOUR WEEK Monday Let the BUCS Administrator know if there are any problems with Wednesday's match by 12noon Make sure appropriate officials have been arranged for your fixture Weekend fixtures: return completed teamsheet to the Students' Union, send in results and report in any problems, accidents or disputes Tuesday Send in team sheets to the BUCS Administrator by 12noon Check emails to see if there are any last minute changes/cancellations Wednesday GAME DAY Check emails in case of cancellations REMEMBER: team sheet, playing under protest form, student ID Arrive at venue/HUBS in good time for the fixture/departure! Exchange and verify team sheets with opposition before kick off Get a win for Team Hallam! Send the result to 07825861715 (e.g. Men's 1 st Football, Hallam 3 Loughborough 0) Thursday Return completed team sheets to the Students' Union by 3pm Report in any problems, accidents or disputes from the previous day Any playing under protest forms to be handed in by 12pm Friday Receive weekly email confirming fixture start times, venues and travel arrangements Check and confirm these with your teams, inform the BUCS administrator if there are any problems Weekend fixtures: send in team sheets and, if the fixture is away, trip forms
