3 Itinerary Group flight, depart June 12: Seattle-Madrid (arrive June 13) High speed train to León Hike the Camino for sixteen days Spend 2 ½ days in Santiago de Compostela Return to León by bus Students studying Spanish in León will meet their host families The rest of us will head back to Madrid by train the following morning Spend 1 ½ days in Madrid: visit the Prado Museum and Royal Palace Morning of July 6 th, fly back to Seattle

4 Hiking the Camino de Santiago: Earn 5 to 13 credits Spring quarter 2016 4-credit online orientation course 1-credit course on site in Spain Total = 5 credits Post-Camino, July 2016 Intensive Spanish course at the University of León Language Center Earn an additional 8 credits Only open to those who have completed second year Spanish (Span 251, 252, 253) Dates: July 4 – July 29 You must organize your return trip to the U.S.

5 What does the program cost? If you do the Camino hike, but do not take classes in León: Estimated program cost: $3,400 (includes program fees, all transportation, lodging, guided tours, museum tickets, and some meals; does not include most meals and tuition) If you do the Camino hike and take Spanish classes in León: Estimated program cost: $3,250 (includes program fees, all transportation, lodging, guided tours, and some meals; does not include most meals and tuition) $500 CWU concurrent enrollment fee $1,500 for the University of León Language Center (includes 80 hours [8 credits] of intensive Spanish, excursions, and full room and board with a homestay family)

6 Additional Costs Spring tuition Estimated food costs: $500-$650 (depends on your appetite…) Incidentals: $150-$200 Summer tuition – 1 credit: estimated $260

7 Deadlines and Payments Dec. 4 th, 2015 – Application Deadline (pay $75 application fee) Dec. 8 th, 2015 – Pay $500 deposit Jan. 22 nd, 2016– Payment #1 (50% of balance; estimated $1,450) April 8 th,2016 – Payment #2 (50% of balance; estimated $1,450) Jan. 1, 2016 or sooner: Apply for a passport Spanish program in León payment deadlines to be announced shortly

8 How do I apply? Pick up an application the in the Office of International Studies and Programs and submit it to Matthew Zielsdorf (our program advisor) whose office is in the same building Access the application on the program website and submit it to Matthew Zielsdorf: cwu.edu/educationabroad/wl/camino
